Seatrack AVL

 Seatrack AVL is a DGPS transponder suited for vehicle tracking and fleet management systems. Seatrack AVL is a small size GPS based unit designed for connection to a driver display and existing radio systems for data communication with an operation centre. DGPS accuracy is available either by including a low cost correction receiver (IALA or FM-RDS) at the vehicle, or by applying differential correction at the operation centre.
Seatrack AVL is built by standard, commercially-off-the-shelf electronic modules like GPS receivers and radios for reception of differential GPS corrections. By adding a micro-processor with appurtenant firmware, Seatrack AVL provides a flexible and cost-effective DGPS tracking unit in a compact and robust housing.

A variety of alternatives for interfacing and communication is available through two data/power connectors with altogether 24 pins. Odometer and low-cost rate gyros can be connected to bridge areas where GPS coverage is limited (tunnels, urban canyons etc.) Seatrack AVL comes with a standard correlator 12-channel GPS receiver, but can also be delivered with 		a high-quality alternative for applications requiring optimum accuracy and multipath mitigation. For utilisation of existing communication infrastructure, GSM telephone or VHF links are examples of possible media for carrying messages from and to the vehicles.

Seatrack AVL comprises a robust mechanical design, to withstand harsh environmental conditions. Only high-quality, non corrosive connectors are used.
